Vote for David Watkins on or before June 9, 2020

This year, because of COVID-19, a voter has three options to choose from to vote in the town election: 1) early voting by mail; 2) absentee voting; or 3) in-person voting at the polling place from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on June 9 election day. With each option, the actual ballot must be received by the Town Clerk before the polls close on Tuesday, June 9.

The deadline to register to vote in this year’s town election is Friday, May 29, 2020. Check with the Town Clerk for her hours (508) 358-3631 or townclerk@wayland.ma.us.

EARLY VOTING BY MAIL

Early voting by mail is the preferred option (per Town Clerk) for Wayland’s annual town election. You need to allow ample time for the Town Clerk’s Office to mail you the ballot and for you to return it in time. Print out an Application for an Early Voting Ballot (Click here), sign it, scan it or take a photo of it, and e-mail it to townclerk@wayland.ma.us, or mail it to: Town Clerk, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778.

Then, when the ballot arrives in your mail box, fill it out and send it back to: Town Clerk, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778 or drop it off at the dedicated box in the front entrance to the Town Building. Completed ballots must be received at the Town Clerk’s Office before 8:00 p.m. on election day June 9, 2020.

ABSENTEE VOTING

Voters who are unable to vote on Election Day because of physical disability, religious beliefs or absence from the town may vote by absentee ballot. This year (and only for elections that occur prior to July, 2020) eligibility for an absentee ballot also includes “any person taking precautions related to COVID-19 in response to a declared state of emergency or from guidance from a medical professional, local or state health official, or any civil authority”. Click here for an Absentee Voter Application for you or a family member and follow the instructions on the form. You need to allow ample time for the Town Clerk’s Office to mail you the ballot and for you to return it in time.  Completed ballots must be received at the Town Clerk’s Office before 8:00 p.m. on election day June 9, 2020.
